Ronnie Charles, the voice of chart-topping Melbourne 60ís band The Groop. first burst onto the scene with hits such as Woman Youíre a Breakin Me and Such a Lovely Way. Enjoying both sales and critical success it took them straight to London and the heady days of rock and pop musicís electric birth.
Fast forward to today and Ronnieís still going strong with his power-house vocals commanding full attention from centre stage, behind the mic. Together with razor-sharp backing band the Retro Bandits he rekindles the excitement of those musically magical days paying tribute to The Beatles, Animals, Rolling Stones, The Band, Crosby Stills and Nash, Roy Orbison, Dylan, Elvis, Procul Harum, Talking Heads, Steeley Dan, Eagles, Traveling Wilburys and lots, lots more.
The Retro Bandits features Dave Herzog on lead guitar and he first came to fame as a member of the 70s hit band, Kush. Daveís guitar wizardry is featured on the soundtrack of the Oscar-winning Jim Carey film The Truman Show, HSV7ís 2000 and 2004 Olympics themes and current popular Australian TV drama Underbelly series. Dave is also a sought after composer and arranger in his own right.
Fabian Fitzgerald is on vocals, guitar, slide guitar and keyboards. Heís toured with Angry Anderson, Matt Taylor and other Oz rock luminaries of the 70s and 80s and combines the Retro Bandits with a solo career composing original songs and music for film, TV and corporate clients.
The Banditsí drummer/BVís, Noel Hyslop (a founding member of The Zodiacs), and bassist/BVís Peter Becker have played together for over 35 years and have developed a tight understanding of each otherís styles that only long-standing musical partnerships achieve.
All together they form one of the most exhilarating vocal and instrumental bands on the circuit that commands a huge following and pack the dance floors whenever they appear.
