THUMPERS ANNOUNCE DEBUT AUSTRALIAN TOUR

Chugg Entertainment, in association with Hub Artist Services, can confirm that British indie duo, Thumpers, will be making their debut appearance in Australia this coming winter. The celebrated two-piece will be playing Sydney’s Newtown Social Club on Thursday 10th July and the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne on Friday 11th July, off the back of their debut album, Galore  - released today in the UK, with early support from NME and Radio 1, and out now in Australia through Inertia. Comprised oflong time friends Marcus Pepperell and John Hamson Jr. – THUMPERS’ colourful, exuberant alt-pop celebrates their innate musical kinship and draws upon their shared childhood memories. The London-based band combine layered androgynous vocals with muscular drums, astral synths and shimmering guitars in a celebration of the breathless sensations of youth and coming of age. Live, they are augmented by an interchanging cast of friends and musicians in faithfully bringing their immersive dynamics and grand scale sonic vision to the stage.   Already, Thumpers have been invited to hit the road with a range of acclaimed contemporaries including New York duo, Ms Mr, throughout the summer season and Chvrches, for their UK & European dates in late 2013. After their recent sweep of SXSW, the Austin Chronicle said “a band that refuses to back down on the fourth day of SXSW, when most bands are down for the count… a half hour watching their music gave me pause, and Thumpers started to sound like an important band.” And in the words of Pitchfork, Thumpers' "extroverted outlook works for this UK duo at a time when Alt-J and Two Door Cinema Club are the guys filling arenas. [Thumpers] play in the live formation of party-starting, pool-jumping outfit Friendly Fires. Pepperell (vocals, guitar, keys) and Hamson Jr. (drums, vocals, bass) decamp to their Warwickshire hometown to record and also produce the majority of their music themselves. However for the recording of their debut album, Galore, they enlisted David Kosten (Bat for Lashes, Everything Everything) for additional production and mixing.  Check out the video for debut single, Sound of Screams HERE.
