THE LAST BUS
A brilliant, scary, prize-winning short film employing pixilation to animate a cast of human woodland animals. With the arrival of the hunting season, the animals of the forest accept an uneasy truce and urgently board a bus in order to flee to safety. However, if hunters should later intercept the bus, will not the animals reveal their true natures?
ALOIS NEBEL
Towards the close of the 1980s, Alois Nebel (Miroslav Krobot) is working as a dispatcher at the small railway station in Bílý Potok, a remote village in the Jeseník Mountains on the Czech-Polish border. He’s a loner who prefers old timetables to people and who finds the loneliness of the station tranquil – except when the fog rolls in.
THE BLUE TIGER
A magical children’s film combining live-action and innovative animation in relating how the arrival of a blue tiger – a child's wish – might emerge from a doodle-filled scrapbook to save a run-down botanical garden and its neighbourhood in present day Prague from wholesale redevelopment at the hands of a villainous mayor.
But is the tiger even real?
COSY DENS
This multiple award-winning comedy is set against the lead-up to 1968's short-lived Prague Spring. It dramatises the lives of two ideologically incompatible families living in the same apartment building and involuntarily sharing the same fate, with no small amount of teen angst thrown into the mix.
STONES
A stunning stop-motion puppet musical with a wonderful orchestral score composed by Marek Piaček. Rough-hewn men toil in a grim quarry, day in, day out, mechanically but nonetheless musically attending to their labour. One day, the foreman's lovelorn wife comes to the quarry and throws them all off their rhythm...
THE HOUSE
Eva lives with her parents in a remote Slovak village near a small city. She is finishing high school and dreams of moving to London but doesn’t dare openly oppose her father. All of this starts to change when Eva has an affair with a married man in the months before her graduation.
IDENTITY CARD
A bittersweet comedy directed by Ondřej Trojan and based on the novel by Petr Šabach, Identity Card maps the lives of four boys – their friends, first loves and conflicts with their parents – from the age of 15, when they receive their state identity cards, to 18, when they try everything possible to get out of military service.
PRIVATE UNIVERSE
Private Universe is a fascinating documentary, 37 whole years in the making, chronicling the life of one Czech family, the Kettners.

Gravity Boots Presents: Eight Bandits and a Pound of Sugar
The third and final installment in the Gravity Boots series of three experimental monthly shows at Holden Street Theatres is the capstone in their darkly weird and frenetically funny absurdist sketch trilogy. Let these strange and wonderfully entertaining young men guide you through more of the peculiar new worlds that reside in their thick brains. Skeletons, inventors and a couple of gas-canaries are among some of the charmingly bizarre creatures on offer.
An explosive play that took critics and audiences by storm and became a world-wide sensation upon its release, Equus is Peter Shaffer's exploration of the way modern society has destroyed our ability to feel passion. Alan Strang is a disturbed youth whose dangerous obsession with horses leads him to commit an unspeakable act of violence. As psychiatrist Martin Dysart struggles to understand the motivation for Alan's brutality, he is increasingly drawn into Alan's web and eventually forced to question his own sanity and purpose. Equus is a timeless classic and a cornerstone of contemporary drama that delves into the darkest recesses of human existence.
