Drug Law Reform Australia inc
It's Official! We’re about to have a party....our own Drug Law Reform Party!
We're delighted to announce that we now have over 750 members, with 550 members confirmed on the electoral roll… well in excess of the 500 required by the Australian Electoral Commission!
We have mailed our application for registration as a political party. The AEC registration process will take up to 11 weeks.
We'd like to thank all our members and supporters for helping us achieve this amazing milestone.
Thanks to you, we have won the right to put the words “Drug Law Reform” on 13 million ballot papers in September.
Now that the membership drive is completed, we need to consider the next phase of our development as a political movement.

We’re calling for expressions of interest from potential Senate candidates. If you are committed to drug law reform, preferably with advocacy experience, media experience and/or an existing public profile, please consider putting up your hand. Our success depends on good people stepping up to carry the cause forward.
Please forward all suggestion to Greg Chipp, or if you know of a possible candidate, speak with them and refer them back to Greg. Greg has experience as a federal candidate, and will be able to assist anyone contemplating this option.

Fundraising needs to be a priority...it affects everything else we plan to do.
We’re currently looking for anyone with previous fundraising experience who would be willing to take on this challenging role.
State group coordinators

At the very least we will require local coordinators and/or candidate support committees in each state/territory. If you are interested in convening a local group please get in touch.

We are looking for people with social media, internet marketing, graphic design, copyrighting, public relations, media-relations, journalist or legal skills.
If you are committed to Drug Law reform and have some time available please make contact detailing your area of interest and skills.

We are retooling our website for the coming campaign and will need software developers in the coming months to fully utilise this resource.
If you have internet programming skills and know PHP, Drupal or CiviCRM (this is our CRM membership management software) then let us know.
If you can help us in one of these areas and are prepared to volunteer a bit of your time to a good cause, then get in touch....
We’ll keep working to build a bigger and better campaign but we still need your help.
Let's make our voices heard leading up to the September Federal Election.

Our Mission
Drug Law Reform Australia exist to raise awareness of the ongoing harm being done to our children, families, institutions, and society in general, by the current harm maximising drug laws.
The party maintains that drug use can be dangerous and problematic drug abuse is a major health concern, however criminalising drug use does more harm than good.
Party Party
Are we a small gathering or a party?

We will be holding a public Party meeting at 6.30pm, in Melbourne on Thursday the 30th of May to celebrate our registration with the AEC.
The meeting will give our members a chance to meeting each other in a relaxed atmosphere and discuss the way forward.
This informal gathering will be followed at 8.30 by an even more informal party down stairs with a band.
Place: FAD Bar & Gallery, 14 Corrs Lane Chinatown, Melb
All welcome.
