This Barbera d Asti is lively juicy and dry all at the same time, aged in Slavonian casks for One and a half years, so the price tag of $54.95 is cheap considering the time spent developing the wonderful palate of ripe red berry fruit with spicy aromas that flow through to the palate with hints of aniseed washing around the palate finishing rich with a beautiful texture, that is my idea of Italian wine rustic finishing with a flavour that is seductive and long and savoury.
This wine has five years bottle age and is starting to drink well and will continue to age and improve for many years in a cool dark place, Under lock and key that is, because it is hard to resist the dry savoury character once you have tried and fallen in love with this or any good Italian wine they have an allure all of their own!

You Really have to try some good Italian wine. A good place to start is a Chianti at $25.00 try this with crisp roast pork & potatoes.
I am sure you will see the attraction to Italian wines as I do.
