The Royal Australian Artillery Band are hitting it big in support of BUSHkids!
Years ago Warrant Officer Class One Simon Renfrey swapped his drum sticks for a baton and its a move that hes relished.
WO Renfrey is bandmaster of the 1st Regiment Royal Australian Artillery, a 30-piece group of Army Reserve musicians, who regularly support BUSHkids.
The military band is now preparing for a concert on July 27 at the Draney Theatre, Marist College in Ashgrove.
Our focus on a concert like this would be as big a variety of tunes to please the most number of people in the audience, WO Renfrey said. "Its a tricky balancing act for WO Renfrey who juggles keeping band members happy by selecting challenging tunes and giving the audience a show to get their feet tapping.
