• Me and Youtube - Young and Talented ? Time to prove it!

I'm not ashamed to admit that this installment of my "Me and Youtube" column is an unabashed excuse to promote my latest talent quest for singers.

I've staged and hosted many such quests throughout the years, and must admit that I still get a kick out of it. Some of the talented young Australians I've introduced to very appreciative shopping centre and nightclub audiences have gone on to forge incredibly successful careers in the world of entertainment.

Anthony Callea was and continues to be nothing short of amazing - a true star.

And then there was a little 10 year old girl, with an incredibly powerful vocal and stage presence that blew my talent quest audience away - Gabriella Cilmi.

I'm proud to say that I was a bit of a mentor to Gabriella, and gave her some advice she used very wisely, and went on to thank me for many years later, on national television.

A number of terrific kids I met during my quests would ask me to give them singing and performance lessons - one of the very best was Sally Chatfield.

      Another was Madeline Perrone.

Here are three very lovely young ladies I had the pleasure of teaching and mentoring for quite a few years - Carly Phelan, Telisa Cooper, and Stephanie Angelini.

Various other fabulous kids I encountered during the running of my talent quests I simply mentored. Here's a young lady I believe to be one of the finest young vocalists in Australia - Britt Jones.

My latest quest is for singers aged 4 years to 17 years who are looking for a chance to perform, and will be staged at Gladstone Park Shopping Centre during the second week of the upcoming school holidays: Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th October, 2013.
