Antenna International Documentary Film Festival returns for its second year and will take place between the 10th to 14th October, in Sydney. Hosted at Dendy Cinemas, Antenna 2012 will showcase over 30 feature length documentaries from around the world, film competitions, special events and international guests.

Over five days, the documentary film festival will share the creative talents of local and international filmmakers and allow the public to experience the best contemporary documentary cinema from around the world.

"This festival was created due to the increase in popularity of documentaries worldwide. We felt that there was a need for a documentary festival in Australia and the high attendance of people proved this. Following on the success of our first year, we are creating a 2012 film program that will encourage audiences to look at the world around them in a new light. And while we’ll be bringing films and guests from all around the world, we are keen to showcase Australian talent and provide a platform in which Australian filmmakers can flourish,” said Antenna Founding Director, David Rokach

Antenna will also include the ABC Award for Best Short Documentary, which comes with a cash prize of $1,000 and an internship at the ABC.

Antenna is now accepting submissions and invites features, medium and short films for the 2012 festival. Submissions for the Australian and short competitions closes June 22.
