25th November 2013, 01:24 PM
Brisbane’s Hey Geronimo have released their highly anticipated sophomore EP titled ‘Erring On The Side of Awesome’. Having just wrapped up a national headline EP throughout November, the band is pumped to celebrate their new EP with an international sojourn to India to close out their year. Erring On The Side of Awesome follows-on from a string of undeniable radio singles over the last eighteen months, including several from their debut 2012 EP. Breakthrough single ‘Why Don’t We Do Something’ notched major international syncs and nearly a million Youtube views, while follow-up tracks ‘Carbon Affair’ and ‘Dreamboat Jack’ helped the band achieve a coveted inclusion in triple j’s Next Crop 2012 list. Earlier this year, the EP hit the Top 100 in the US CMJ College Radio charts, earning the band an invitation to play the CMJ Festival this month as well as being chosen as one of the carefully selected Australian contigent heading to India's NH7 Weekender festival in Bangalore and Delhi in late October and the accompanying Aussie BBQ dates in Mumbai and Pune. Featuring tongue-in-cheek fan favourite ‘The Dan Kelly Song’ and the recent festival-style anthem ‘Lazer Gun Show’, Hey Geronimo’s new EP legitimises the band as one of the most innovative and quirky purveyors of indie music in Australia today. 2013 has already been an action-packed year for the four-piece, with national tours alongside Strange Talk, Pluto Jonze, 90s indie legends Presidents of the USA and most recently alongside Deep Sea Arcade to some of Australia’s best capital city venues. Hey Geronimo’s recent showcase at BIGSOUND Live (Australia’s premier music showcase event) in September caught the attention of local and international industry members, proving that the band are truly in their prime.
